Liam Bowers

Co-Founder & CEO    

Liam Bowers is the Co-Founder and CEO of DroneTrace, where he leads strategy, operations, and engagement with U.S. and allied defense customers. A former Army Intelligence Officer and tech founder, Liam has spent his career at the intersection of national security, technology, and mission execution.

Prior to founding DroneTrace, Liam was Co-Founder and CEO of Bluestone Analytics, a company specializing in Dark Web intelligence, AI-driven analysis, and cyber operations. Bluestone Analytics was acquired by CACI International, Inc in 2021, where Liam continued to support strategic efforts in Information Warfare and Cyber Operations.

Liam holds a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from West Virginia University. He retired from military service in 2024 after nearly 21 years in Army Special Operations. Today, he lives on a small farm outside Charlottesville, VA with his wife and children.

Joseph DePlato

Co-Founder & CTO  

 Joseph DePlato is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of DroneTrace, where he leads product development, technical strategy, and the integration of advanced AI and digital forensics capabilities to support U.S. and allied defense missions.

A seasoned technologist and cybersecurity expert, Joseph brings over two decades of experience building mission-critical systems for government and commercial clients. Prior to DroneTrace, he was the Co-Founder and CTO of Bluestone Analytics, a firm specializing in Dark Web forensics and cyber threat intelligence. Bluestone was acquired by CACI International, Inc. in 2021, where Joseph continued to drive innovation in support of national security initiatives.

Joseph holds a Remote Pilot Certificate under FAA Part 107, a Certified Drone Forensic Examiner Certificate, and has deep expertise in cyber exploitation, forensic software design, and secure cloud infrastructure. He frequently presents at national conferences on emerging threats and open-source tool development.

He lives in Virginia with his wife and twin children, and when he's not writing code or analyzing drone logs, he can be found training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or exploring the outdoors.
